Our strophanthus extract is an alcohol extract of strophanthus seeds. The final product contains about 1 milligram of g-strophanthin per milliliter of the extract.

A note on taste: If you've tried our Strophanthus extract in the past and found it to be bitter, the extract has been reformulated to remove the bitterness. The potency of the tincture has not changed; it is still super-filtered and contains the same principal amount of active ingredient.

Contraindications:
There are very few contraindications for the use of Strophanthus, and certainly far fewer than almost all approved drugs, even aspirin. However, strophanthus is not recommended:
1) if taking derivatives of Digitalis such as Digoxin,
2) if pregnant or nursing,
3) in the case of certain electrolyte imbalances (low or high sodium, low or high potassium)
4) bradycardia.
